2010 "CURRENT" CLUB PARTICIPATION EVENT SCHEDULE

To be updated Jan. 2010

2008 CLUB EVENT HISTORY

Our first meeting for 2008 was held at the Clearfield Winger's Restaurant, 12 Jan. Our primary focus of the meeting was to update the club bylaws. This was an important meeting for the club. Several changes were sugested and voted on by the club members present. A lot of work was put into this project by several members and club officers. Final drafting of the bylaws and adding the requirements for the club becoming incorperated should be completed and ready for distrubtion to the club members by the next meeting.

We held our March meeting at Tio's Mexican Restaurant in Murray. There was a good turnout of new and long time members. Along with the normal club business topics, we held our first truck model contest.  The display of car and truck models was very impressive, the contest was lots of fun. We also had a guest speaker from a local Chevrolet Dealership. The topic was about "crate" motors and high performance Chevy parts. It was a very interesting and informative discussion. As always we enjoyed good food with friends and the display of trucks in the parking lot after the meeting.

Our May meeting was held at a club members home in their new garage. There was a large turn out of members and guests. We all had a great time. The food that Lupe made for everyone was wonderful. The weather was perfect for all the trucks and cars that were lined up at the end of the street for the neighborhood and members to enjoy. Eric showed a slide presentation on the 1954 Chevy Truck line using original film from that era.

We held our annual club picnic at a new location in Centerville 2 Aug. Everyone had a good time. The weather, food, and fellowship as always was excellant. We had a small turnout of trucks there this year. Probably due to the hot weather and high gas prices. Phil brought his new SS model HHR Chevy instead of his 59 GMC pickup. But the HHR was interesting to check out. We all got a chance to meet some new members and win prizes playing fun games as well.

Our Sep. meeting was at Tio's Restaurant in Murray. The main topic of discussion was about the club members participating in local car show events. As a club our group participation at local events has been down this year. Maybe gas prices and the ever increasing number of shows to choose from has contributed to this. Hopefully we will show up in force at the "Hugs for Life" Charity event in Oct.

Our Club members showed up in force at the "Hugs for Life" Charity event car show held at the Murray Park 18 Oct. There was about 400 vehicles in the show, 14 belonged to our club members. Our club and several club members donated funds and their time to this very important cause. It was a wonderful day for a car show. The weather was absolutely fantastic considering it snowed a week earlier.

We held our last club meeting of the year at the Clearfield Winger's Restaurant 8 Nov. The main topic of discussion was the upcoming election for club officers. Several members volunteered to run for office to lead our club for the next two years. We are all grateful for those who are willing to keep the club going and to help it grow stronger. Our club wishes everyone a very happy holiday season and a wonderful new year.

2009 CLUB EVENT HISTORY

We held our first meeting of the year at Tio's Mexican Restaurant in Murray. After welcoming new members and guests we jumped right into club business. The new club officers were introduced and voted into office for the next two year term. Special thanks for a fine job that was done by the past club officers. Appreciation awards were presented to the out going officers. Fran Jensen won the 2008 club attendance award. Do to a strong core membership and those willing to donate a little time and effort to lead us into the future, the club is still doing well.

Our March meeting was held at the Wingers Restaurant in Clearfield. There was a good turnout of members and guests. The restaurant meeting room was filled to capasity. We held our 2nd annual model truck contest. It was very difficult to choose winners with the large selection of model trucks to choose from. As usual, we conducted normal club business with the main subject being club events for this year.

Six club members entered their trucks at the 1st Annual Autism Awareness Car and Bike Show in Ogden. Four of which took home awards. Dispite the weather there was a good turn out of vehicles of all types. This event was the first of charity events our club will support this year.

Our May Club meeting was at a very nice Resturant in Draper. We had a good turnout of trucks in the parking lot which drew a lot of attention from the public passing by. The meeting was short and sweet, Met some new interested potential new club members. Discussed future events for this year.

We held our annual club picnic the 1st. of August in Centerville. As usual there was lots of fun and good food served thru out the day. We even had a DJ this year to keep us intertained with oldies music. A special thanks goes out to those who worked hard to put it all together. And thanks to those who brought their Chevy and GMC trucks for all to enjoy.

The club had a small gathering of members for a brief meeting at the Brigham City Peach Day's event 12 Sep. It was a great day for a big show. Over 900 vehicles were there to include lots of Chevy and GMC trucks to view and enjoy.

We held our last club meeting of the year at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport. There was a good turnout of members and guests considering the snowy weather. We got some interesting pictures of trucks covered in snow at the Doolittle Deli parking lot. There was some good discussion of normal end of year club business and plans for the coming new year. Our Club wishes everyone a very happy holiday season.
